Joe Engel is a self-taught mixed media artist working and
living in Western North Carolina. Working out of a small studio in the countryside, Joe creates original handmade artwork with a combination of salvaged materials and original designs. The work consists of a variety of animal forms balanced with material found by the side of the road. His findings are combined with acrylic paint and ink to assemble rustic images of wildlife creatures. Joe's work can be found at festivals and exhibits throughout the Southeast.
